This marks the company's largest investment in Asia to date. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella revealed the plan following a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing the goal of supporting India's vision for an 'AI-first' future. With a population of 1.45 billion, India is emerging as a pivotal arena in the global AI competition. Recently, several tech leaders, including Anthropic co-founder Dario Amodei, have visited the country.
