In a letter to the Attorney General, Pulte accused Cook of potentially falsifying bank documents and property records to secure more favorable loan terms, citing relevant criminal statutes for the investigation. U.S. President Donald Trump publicly demanded Cook's immediate resignation following the allegations. Cook, who was nominated to the Federal Reserve by President Biden, is serving a term that extends until 2038. Both the Federal Reserve and the Department of Justice have declined to comment on the matter.
