According to Foresight News, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman highlighted the transformative impact of the AI programming agent Codex at the Microsoft Build 2025 Developer Conference. Altman emphasized that Codex represents one of the most significant advancements in the field, urging developers to strategically position themselves in response to the rapid evolution of AI technologies. He noted that such technological inflection points are rare, and those who invest early are likely to reap substantial rewards. Recently, ChatGPT introduced the programming agent Codex, a cloud-based software engineering tool capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously. Unlike the original Codex model launched in 2021, the new version is powered by codex-1, an optimized software engineering iteration of OpenAI's o3 model.
