SPARO, a startup focused on general-purpose aerial intelligence, has completed four funding rounds totaling several hundred million yuan within six months, with investors including Yaotu Capital (seed round), Jinqiu Fund, Alibaba, Hony Capital, GLP Hidden Hill Capital, and Yunshi Capital, according to 36Kr. The company said the proceeds will be used to expand hiring for key roles, commercialize and scale delivery of its product lines, and accelerate iteration of its technology platform.
SPARO was founded in February 2026 and is developing autonomous aerial systems designed to operate in complex environments such as GPS-denied areas, low light, and dynamically changing settings. Founder Zhang Fu is a tenured associate professor at the University of Hong Kong and leads the MaRS Lab, and previously served as a senior advisory scientist at DJI for eight years, the report said.
