Annex Wealth Management Economist Says Inflation Data Meeting Expectations Is Not Necessarily Positive

Annex Wealth Management Chief Economist Brian Jacobsen said inflation data that matches expectations does not necessarily make it a good report. According to Jin10, Jacobsen said the headline inflation figures did not show much evidence that rising energy commodities were filtering into core prices. He added that the “clock is ticking loudly” on reopening the Strait of Hormuz, whether through force or a ceasefire. Jacobsen said the Federal Reserve would not try to guess when that might happen, and that U.S. President Donald Trump needs to provide the Fed with certainty before it meets.
