Bank of America Strategist Sees 50% Odds of Another October Rate Increase After Expected BOJ Hike

Bank of America Global Research strategist Shusuke Yamada said markets are pricing the probability of another October rate increase at around 50% following next week's expected Bank of Japan (BOJ) rate hike. According to NS3.AI, Yamada said the yen could receive support if BOJ guidance signals a more hawkish policy trajectory. He added that the market’s expectations for an additional October move have risen in response to the anticipated policy step next week.
