Iranian President Pezeshkian Calls for Structural Solutions to Economic Issues

Iranian President Pezeshkian emphasized the need for structural and sustainable planning to address economic and social issues at their root during a meeting with officials from Iran's Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour, and Social Welfare. According to Jin10, Pezeshkian stated that those who became unemployed during wartime should not solely rely on unemployment insurance benefits but should be provided with sustainable employment opportunities. He also stressed the importance of developing targeted support programs to maintain existing jobs. Pezeshkian highlighted that controlling consumption and avoiding waste are necessary measures at the national level, urging government agencies to take the lead in these areas. When discussing electronic consumption vouchers, he noted that priority should be given to low-income and vulnerable groups, with support policies aimed at enhancing household purchasing power and alleviating the living pressures of low-income families.
