The U.S. House Agriculture Committee, led by Chairman Glenn Thompson, has sent a letter to U.S. President Donald Trump, urging him to promptly nominate a full five-member board for the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). According to Odaily, the letter highlights that the CFTC is currently led solely by Chairman Michael Selig. The committee emphasized the importance of a complete leadership team to address 'urgent regulatory issues,' especially if the CLARITY Act is passed, which would impose significant rule-making responsibilities on the CFTC. As of now, President Trump has not announced any nominations for the CFTC board, and the nomination process requires several weeks or even months of review and voting by the Senate.
