U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent has stated that Iran's oil storage facilities are at full capacity, necessitating a halt in oil production. According to Odaily, this situation arises from the U.S. blockade on Iranian oil exports, raising concerns about how long Iran can store unsold oil before running out of space. Some analysts suggest that Iran has a few weeks of storage capacity left and has begun to gradually reduce production to manage the situation.
In an interview with CNBC's 'Financial Forum,' Bessent noted that over the past three days, Iran has been unable to load tankers at its main oil export terminal on Kharg Island due to the U.S. blockade preventing tankers from entering or leaving the Persian Gulf. During the first month of the blockade, U.S. forces have redirected 70 ships that were reportedly heading to or from Iranian ports.
