World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency project associated with the Trump family, has enlisted renowned litigation attorney Tom Clare for its legal proceedings against Sun Yuchen. According to Odaily, Clare Locke LLP will represent the project in this matter. Tom Clare is recognized for his expertise in commercial litigation and defamation cases, particularly in media and technology-related legal disputes. He has gained attention in the cryptocurrency industry for handling disputes involving project teams or companies, such as defamation and contract disagreements. In 2023, Clare led a defamation lawsuit against Fox News, accusing the network of spreading false claims about Dominion voting machines during the 2020 U.S. presidential election. The case was settled for $787.5 million before going to trial, marking one of the largest public defamation settlements involving a U.S. media company. Previously, World Liberty Financial filed a lawsuit in a Florida court, accusing Sun Yuchen of defamation and alleging that he initiated a "systematic pressure campaign" against the project.
