Global stock transfer agency leader and major partner of many S&P 500 companies, Australia's financial giant Computershare, has announced a strategic partnership with digital asset platform Securitize. According to Odaily, this collaboration marks Computershare's entry into the tokenized stock sector, aiming to assist U.S. listed companies in issuing blockchain-based stock tokens. The partnership will introduce issuer-supported tokens (ISTs), allowing U.S. companies to issue them as needed. Investors holding these tokenized stocks will enjoy the same voting rights, legal protections, and shareholder privileges as traditional stockholders, facilitating a compliant integration of traditional equity with the blockchain ecosystem.
