Japanese Government Bonds Tested as Digital Collateral in Joint Project

Mizuho, Nomura, and JSCC have initiated a joint proof-of-concept with Digital Asset to explore the use of Japanese Government Bonds as digital collateral on Canton. According to NS3.AI, this initiative is supported by the Financial Services Agency's Payment Innovation Project and aims to evaluate 24/7 real-time collateral transfers within Japan's current legal framework. Additionally, the consortium plans to test cross-border collateral movement involving clearing houses, institutional investors, clients, and agents.
