According to Foresight News, Buterin described this move as wise, emphasizing the importance of ENS domains and records as a core component of the Ethereum ecosystem. Buterin believes that the optimal architecture for decentralized identity and social applications, which he considers ENS to be a part of, involves storing each user's account and profile data on Layer 1. He suggests that specialized Layer 2 solutions, potentially simpler than a full Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), should handle user operations, such as activities on social platforms.
