Tether International, S.A. de C.V. released an assurance report prepared by BDO covering the third quarter of 2026, with data as of September 30. According to Odaily, Tether’s reserves totaled $191.5 billion at quarter-end, including $132.4 billion in direct and indirect U.S. Treasury holdings. USD₮ issuance remained around $184 billion through the first three quarters, while cumulative net operating profit reached $4.5 billion. Third-quarter net operating profit was $1.5 billion, unchanged from the second quarter; U.S. Treasury securities and reverse repurchase agreements generated most of the revenue. As of September 30, Tether reported total assets of $191.451 billion and total liabilities of $183.496 billion, leaving assets $7.955 billion above liabilities. Excess reserves increased to about $7.95 billion from $4.1 billion at the end of the second quarter.

St. Louis Fed President Alberto G. Musalem said monetary policy and overall financial conditions remain accommodative, while inflation is still too high. According to Odaily, Musalem said inflation is unlikely to ease without Fed action and that raising rates earlier could reduce the risk of a shock to the broader economy.

Grand Canyon Hotel Services LLC, operator of the 101-room Grand Canyon Inn in Valle, Arizona, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on October 29 to restructure its debt. According to Sina Finance, court records show the company listed assets and liabilities in the range of $1 million to $10 million; it also operates seven other hotels across the United States. A 2025 wildfire that destroyed Grand Canyon Lodge and an August 29, 2026, flash flood damaged park infrastructure, while hotel occupancy and revenue in the area fell. The Grand Canyon Inn was listed for sale on July 14, 2026, for $7.95 million. A planned renovation of the company’s 28-room Grand Canyon Motel and construction of a 50-space RV park have an uncertain future as the bankruptcy proceeds.
