According to Sina Finance, Iran's Revolutionary Guards are using small speedboats to identify ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Recently, during a vessel's passage through the Strait of Hormuz via the Oman route, an Iranian speedboat switched on a searchlight and read the ship's name to identify it. Iran's military then called out the vessel's name, said it had been entered into its system and was under surveillance, and ordered it to stop passing through or face action.

According to Jin10, Yemeni government naval forces said they intercepted a shipment of military components and equipment in the Red Sea on August 24 that was provided by Iran to its ally, the Houthi movement. Yemeni government forces also said they carried out a preemptive strike in the Red Sea and destroyed an unmanned boat operated by the Houthis.

ETH could trigger $903 million in cumulative long liquidations on major centralized exchanges if it falls below $2,388. According to ChainCatcher, Coinglass data also shows that if ETH rises above $2,634, cumulative short liquidations on major CEXs would reach $381 million.

Chainalysis has filed a lawsuit in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, alleging that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement illegally awarded a $94.6 million sole-source contract to rival TRM Labs. The contract covers forensic software and support services for Homeland Security task force investigations from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027, which Chainalysis says is the largest blockchain analytics contract the U.S. government has awarded to date. According to ChainCatcher, Chainalysis said ICE issued a request for information on May 28 with 18 questions covering capabilities such as a proprietary scam-victim database, AI agent data retrieval, automated notices to virtual asset service providers for voluntary freezes, and cooperation with stablecoin issuers. Chainalysis argued that many of those requirements were absent from the final Statement of Need released less than two weeks later, while ICE’s market research still used the RFI criteria to conclude that Chainalysis could not meet the demand. Chainalysis also said that sextortion, which was not mentioned in the RFI, became one of the three main task areas in the Statement of Need, and that some requirements closely matched TRM’s proprietary product architecture. The company said it was the only firm to submit a capability statement, but ICE completed its market research the next day, determined that TRM was the only vendor able to meet all requirements, and did not ask Chainalysis any follow-up questions.
