According to CNBC, SpaceX has expanded its contract with NASA and will carry out three additional crewed Dragon flights to the International Space Station through 2030, with the work worth up to $946 million if completed. Based on highway fuel economy of about 27 miles per gallon for the two-wheel-drive version, the 34-gallon tank implies a theoretical range of about 918 miles. General Motors said actual range will still depend on payload, towing weight, drivetrain, speed, and ambient temperature. The diesel version is positioned for long-distance efficiency rather than maximum towing power. The Silverado diesel can tow up to 12,000 pounds, while the Sierra diesel can tow about 12,100 pounds. Both are below the peak figures for models equipped with the 5.7-liter V8 engine. The new Silverado and Sierra will keep four engine options in total. The entry-level 2.7-liter TurboMax turbocharged four-cylinder rises to 350 horsepower and 455 pound-feet, the new 5.7-liter V8 delivers 402 horsepower and 428 pound-feet, and the 6.6-liter V8 reaches 481 horsepower and 501 pound-feet. All four engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
