Trump wrote that the media should not keep publishing or reporting fabricated content and lies about the U.S. president, the Trump administration, or the United States. It was not immediately clear whether Trump would carry out the ban or how it would be enforced. If implemented, the move would likely face legal challenges. A federal court previously overturned the Trump administration's blanket ban on reporters entering the White House complex. The news organizations have not yet responded to requests for comment. Last year, the White House excluded The Associated Press from presidential events, though its reporters were still allowed to work in the White House complex, and The Associated Press later sued Trump administration officials. A district court judge initially sided with The Associated Press, saying the White House could not punish media outlets for the content of their reporting. An appeals court later largely paused enforcement of the lower court's order, and the case is still awaiting a ruling from the appeals court. The U.S. Treasury had previously barred reporters from several media outlets, including Bloomberg News and The New York Times, from covering a recent Group of 20 finance ministers' meeting. The Pentagon also barred several major media outlets from maintaining office space there last year after they refused to sign new restrictions on their reporting activities.

A new draft report found that Federal Reserve officials failed to properly respond to repeated warnings about Silicon Valley Bank's deteriorating financial condition before its 2023 collapse. According to Sina Finance, the review was commissioned by Fed Vice Chair for Supervision Michelle Bowman and prepared by Starling Trust Sciences. People familiar with the matter said regulators issued 54 formal warnings to Silicon Valley Bank between 2020 and 2022, but most focused on technology, operational risk, and compliance issues rather than reducing interest-rate exposure or depositor concentration. The report also said Fed staff did not force the bank to take sufficient steps to reduce risks tied to rising rates and to depositors with balances above the federal insurance limit. Bowman said the review supports her push to reform the Fed's bank supervision policies. Critics including Senator Elizabeth Warren said the report may be politically motivated, while White House spokesperson Kush Desai said Michael Barr failed to do his job and later issued a report widely seen as political.

Polygon Foundation CEO Sandeep Nailwal said Polygon is preparing to deploy a permissionless burn contract that would allow anyone to permanently destroy 100 million POL. According to ChainCatcher, the contract is already live on testnet and will be deployed to mainnet after final approval from the security committee. The first burn would destroy 100 million POL at once, after which community members could trigger burns each quarter. Polygon documentation says base fees are determined by the network and are burned, while Nailwal said each base fee injects POL into the collector. Based on the figures provided, about 21 million POL would remain in the collector after the initial burn. Nailwal said the burn represents about 1% of POL's initial 10 billion supply, or roughly 0.93% of the approximately 10.716 billion total supply shown by Blockscout. He added that the burn will not impose a hard cap on POL, which will continue to be issued, with an annualized inflation rate of about 2% after June 2025. Nailwal also said POL has been in deflation since January 2026 and cited data from his ChatGPT analyst showing Polygon's 2026 revenue at $24.5 million, above Arbitrum's $8.41 million and Near's $5.6 million.
