Lloyds Bank Completes UK's First Tokenized Deposit Transaction

According to BlockBeats, Lloyds Banking Group, the third-largest bank in the UK, has successfully completed the country's first transaction involving the purchase of government bonds using tokenized deposits. This milestone was achieved in collaboration with the crypto trading platform Archax and Canton Network. Surath Sengupta, head of transaction banking products at Lloyds Bank, highlighted that tokenized deposits offer benefits such as instant settlement, automated protocols, and enhanced transparency. Additionally, these deposits continue to earn interest and remain protected under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
