Nvidia Unveils Advanced Open-Source AI Models

According to Odaily, Nvidia has introduced a new series of open-source artificial intelligence models, claiming they are faster, cheaper, and smarter than previous versions. Known primarily for its chips used by companies like OpenAI to train proprietary models, Nvidia also offers a wide range of its own models. These models, available as open-source software, cover various fields from physical simulations to autonomous vehicles, and are accessible to researchers and companies such as Palantir Technologies, which has integrated Nvidia's models into its products. On Monday, Nvidia announced the third generation of its 'Nemotron' large language model, designed for tasks such as writing and programming. The smallest model, Nemotron 3 Nano, was released the same day, while two larger versions are expected to launch in the first half of 2026. Meanwhile, reports suggest that Meta Platforms is considering a shift towards proprietary models, positioning Nvidia as a leading provider of open-source models in the United States.
