Meta has quietly launched Style Sketch, an AI fashion app that helps users create new outfits from clothes they already own. According to Sina Finance, the app can connect to Instagram and build a virtual wardrobe from users’ posted photos; users can also add clothing by taking photos, recording short videos, or uploading images from their phone.
Style Sketch recommends outfit combinations based on a user’s personal style and wardrobe. Users can also virtually try them on realistic models generated to match their body type and skin tone, choose a specific garment for new recommendations, or plan daily outfits for a trip using the destination, trip length, planned activities, weather forecasts, and itinerary.
The app, first spotted by social media consultant Matt Navarra, is available on iOS and Android in Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand. It is unclear whether Meta plans to expand it to additional markets.
Other apps offer AI tools to digitize wardrobes and preview outfits, including products from startups such as Alta. Google Photos also lets users turn clothing photos into a digital wardrobe and create outfit ideas. Meta may rely more on Style Sketch’s integration with Instagram, where users have already saved many photos reflecting their personal style, than on the novelty of the concept, the article says.
Style Sketch is one of several AI apps Meta has released in recent months. The company also launched Waddle World, described as resembling a Tamagotchi game with AI features, as well as Pocket, a game-making tool using vibe coding, and Vibes, which lets users generate AI videos. These launches are part of Meta’s broader strategy to expand its app lineup. Earlier this year, a report said CEO Mark Zuckerberg had told employees the company planned to release far more apps than before, as AI makes app development and launches faster and easier.
