STOCKS | South Korea's KOSPI Falls for Fourth Straight Session as Tech Weakness Persists

South Korea's KOSPI fell 0.9% to 6,627.26 on September 15, 2026, marking a fourth straight decline. According to Sina Finance, the move was driven by global macroeconomic volatility, a reassessment of AI capital spending by major technology companies, and profit-taking in earlier leading sectors. Technology shares remained the main drag on the market, with Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix both sold off to varying degrees. According to Sina Finance, foreign investors were net sellers for the past four trading days, weighing on the index's rebound momentum. Shipbuilding stocks also pulled back after strong gains in recent months. According to Sina Finance, the sector had benefited from rising international orders and higher shipping demand tied to geopolitical tensions, but recent gains in international oil prices and growing uncertainty over global trade prospects prompted profit-taking.
