Crypto infrastructure firm 0x said after analyzing more than 84,000 Uniswap v4 Hooks that only about 19.4% could be considered safe, while 54.2% were classified as malicious and 26.4% as suspiciously malicious. According to Foresight News, it also said malicious Hooks do not need a separate interface and can be routed if their quotes appear best.
Uniswap founder Hayden Adams responded that the issue is technical and said users should not route to malicious Hooks. He said he can help teams facing the issue and stressed that v4 Hooks bring significant innovation. Adams also said the Uniswap developer API can provide better market prices, avoid malicious Hooks, access all Uniswap liquidity without fees, and support cross-chain use as well as integration with external liquidity as an aggregator.
