Hang Seng Indexes said Hong Kong stocks are mainly dominated by financials, consumer discretionary and information technology, while technology and AI names still account for a relatively small share of the market.
The company said that among more than 2,400 main board stocks, about 200 are AI-related, representing roughly 7% of total market capitalization, according to Ming Pao. It added that although AI companies have been performing increasingly well globally, their weight in Hong Kong remains limited, so their impact on the broader market is also relatively small.
