Ukraine-Moldova Border Crossing Closed After Russian Drone Attack

According to the BBC, Ukraine closed the Starokozache border crossing with Moldova after Russian drones struck the site overnight, killing two people and injuring three others, according to Ukrainian officials. Odesa regional governor Oleg Kiper said a Moldovan driver was also hurt, while images from the scene showed scorched cars and debris at the border post. In a separate attack, four people, including a child, were killed in the southern Russian city of Novorossiysk, regional governor Veniamin Kondratiev said. Russia's defense ministry said its forces shot down 596 Ukrainian drones overnight, and Kondratiev described the strike on the Black Sea port city as a massive overnight drone attack that damaged residential buildings, a church and a preschool. The attacks came a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke by phone with US President Donald Trump about efforts to end the war.
