Global Bond Yields Hit 2008 Crisis Levels As Sell-Off Spreads

Government bond yields across major economies surged to multi-decade highs in a synchronized sell-off, with Japan’s 10-year yield crossing 3% for the first time since 1996 and US and European debt also hitting historic thresholds. According to BeInCrypto, US 10-year Treasuries reached 4.79%-4.81%, Japan’s 5-year yield hit a record 2.26%, and the Bloomberg gauge of global sovereign bond yields rose to 3.72%, its highest since mid-2008. Bitcoin traded near $77,437, down about 0.2%.
