Nillion said it has launched Dusk, the first phase of its seven-stage Encrypted Markets roadmap, and the system is now live on the Sepolia testnet. According to Foresight News, Dusk will be deployed on Ethereum mainnet and introduce a Covenants mechanism that lets traders predefine conditional trading instructions based on price thresholds or time windows.
The instructions are submitted on-chain in encrypted form and remain sealed until the conditions are met, preventing outside parties from reading them beforehand. Once the conditions are triggered, Nillion nodes help unlock the instructions on-chain and move them into settlement. The mechanism operates in a decentralized way, without relying on a single operator to decide when instructions are opened, and any instruction becomes irreversible once published. If the conditions are never triggered, it will expire automatically and will not be disclosed publicly.
Nillion said the first version of Dusk supports trigger conditions for a small number of crypto assets based on price thresholds and time windows of up to 30 days. It has already completed end-to-end testing for sealed stop-loss orders and sealed auction functions. The roadmap shows that the first applications based on Dusk are scheduled to launch on the testnet in mid-September, while Dusk is set to deploy on Ethereum mainnet and begin its node network in late September.
