$1.6 Billion In Crypto Liquidity Sat Idle In DEX Pools

About $1.6 billion in liquidity deposited across major decentralized exchanges was not being used to its full potential in the first half of 2026, with roughly $542 million a week sitting outside active trading ranges, according to a new study. According to CoinDesk, the research by Dune, commissioned by 1inch, found the idle capital earned no fees and provided no market depth across Uniswap, PancakeSwap and Aerodrome pools. Dune said the out-of-range share was mostly 25% to 35% and estimated affected providers may be missing about $150 million in annual fees.
