Bloomberg technology editor Olivia Solon said Phoebe Gates’ shopping startup, Phia, appeared to overwrite affiliate tracking cookies, potentially redirecting sales commissions away from publishers and influencers without users intentionally engaging with the service, according to Bloomberg. Solon said Phia acknowledged the issue and fixed it, while questions remain over whether the behavior was intentional and what legal or financial consequences could follow for its affiliate partnerships.
