McKinsey research found that the share of employees using AI to assist with work rose to 76% in 2025 from 30% in 2023.
According to Odaily, McKinsey’s 2025 New Era of Work survey reported that 51% of organizations said generative AI has reduced their need for entry-level roles.
The survey also found that from 2023 to 2025, the share of employees with less than one year on the job who said they intended to leave fell to 32% from 37%, nearing the 30% level reported among employees with more than three years of tenure.
McKinsey said AI creators and heavy AI users reported the strongest sense of belonging at work. However, the survey found they were more likely to leave within the next three to six months than light AI users by 7 percentage points, and more likely than employees who do not use AI by 10 percentage points.
The research listed key reasons employees said they would stay, including finding their work valuable, having flexible work locations, access to career development and promotion opportunities, trust and support from colleagues, and receiving decent pay and sufficient recognition.
