DeFi researcher Ignas said he would be bullish on ETH if the Ethereum Foundation can deliver Vitalik Buterin’s previously released “simplified Ethereum” roadmap on schedule. According to Foresight News, Ignas described the roadmap as appealing because it addresses many key community requests.
He said the plan responds to prior feedback by proposing that Layer 1 regain execution authority from Layer 2, while also covering privacy protection, quantum resistance, and second-level finality. Ignas added that tokenomics issues were not addressed in the roadmap.
Ignas also noted that the most anticipated parts of the roadmap are expected to be implemented after 2028, with the finality target set for 2029. He said that if the Ethereum Foundation’s delivery timeline slips while a bear market continues, it could be negative for ETH’s price.
He cited competing projects such as Tempo and Canton as challengers to Ethereum in real-world asset (RWA) and institutional adoption.
