Morocco reached the World Cup quarterfinals for the second straight tournament with a 3-0 win over co-hosts Canada in Houston on Saturday. Azzedine Ounahi scored twice (50th, 82nd) after a set-piece assist from Achraf Hakimi and a cutback from Brahim Díaz, and Soufiane Rahimi added a goal in second-half stoppage time, according to Yahoo Sports.
Canada had the better of the first half but went scoreless in a match that saw seven yellow cards, including one to Luc de Fougerolles for a foul on Rahimi. Canada manager Jesse Marsch did not turn to Alphonso Davies until late as Davies played only 15 minutes in the tournament while carrying a hamstring injury. Morocco will face the France-Paraguay winner Thursday in Boston.
