IAEA Says Inspectors Have Not Been Allowed Into Iran’s Nuclear Facilities

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said it has not yet been permitted to enter Iran’s nuclear facilities. According to Jin10, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said in Vienna on July 3 that, so far, the agency’s inspectors have not been allowed access to Iran’s nuclear sites, and Iran’s enriched uranium remains inside those facilities. Grossi said the IAEA has asked Iran to allow a return to the nuclear facilities for verification, but it has not received permission from the Iranian side. He said that, based on his “overall impression,” Iran’s existing nuclear material is still within its nuclear facilities. He added that the IAEA knows where the nuclear material is stored and the amount held. Grossi also said the IAEA, using tools such as satellite imagery, has observed that Iran’s nuclear facilities have been severely damaged, and that access roads to and from some facilities have been cut off.
