OpenAI has signed a multiyear image display partnership with Getty Images to bring licensed visual content into ChatGPT’s search and discovery features. According to Odaily, Getty Images has previously sued AI companies over copyright issues related to AI training data, though the progress of related litigation has not fully met expectations.
The report said that as AI-generated content capabilities improve, the core value for media and copyright organizations is shifting from individual works toward compliant, licensed content libraries and distribution access points after content enters AI products.
The report added that copyright disputes are expected to continue, while commercial cooperation models are becoming an important direction for the integration of the AI industry and the content sector.
