IREN shares increased over 4% in pre-market trading following the announcement of an 800-megawatt data center campus in South Australia, according to CoinDesk. This marks IREN's first major data center project in Australia, with energization targeted for 2028. The project has secured a high-voltage grid connection without needing major network upgrades and will feature submarine fiber connectivity to key Asia-Pacific markets. Co-Founder and Co-CEO Daniel Roberts emphasized the project's alignment with South Australia's renewable energy goals and its potential to create over 700 jobs.
