U.S. Military Warns of Action in Strait of Hormuz Against Mine-Laying Vessels

The U.S. Central Command has issued a warning about impending military operations near the Strait of Hormuz, targeting vessels involved in or supporting mine-laying activities under the guise of self-defense. According to ChainCatcher, the U.S. military has accused Iran of attempting to disrupt mine-clearing operations and safe navigation in the Strait. Any vessel found participating in mine-laying activities may be targeted. As of May 29, the U.S. military has redirected 115 commercial ships from their original courses.
