Polymarket Dispute Rulings Dominated by Few UMA Holders

According to Foresight News, Bloomberg reports that a small number of UMA holders are influencing the outcomes of dispute contracts on Polymarket. Bloomberg's analysis reveals that out of over 6,400 addresses participating in Polymarket's dispute resolution voting over the past three years, just nine major wallets have accounted for nearly half of the UMA voting power, consistently siding with the winning party in almost all disputes. In April 2026, approximately 230 contracts, with a total transaction volume exceeding $10 billion, entered the dispute resolution process, representing less than 1% of all Polymarket contracts. However, the frequency of disputes increases with transaction size. Some traders criticize the mechanism for effectively granting anonymous large holders 'fact-determining power' driven by economic interests. Plans by Polymarket and Risk Labs, which manages UMA, to improve the related processes have been shelved.
