A recent investigation has revealed that a hacker group is responsible for hijacking several accounts on the X platform, including those of Keith Gill, Matt Furie, and WinRAR. According to Foresight News, the group has profited over $14 million through token promotion and cross-chain money laundering. The funds have been traced across Solana, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Tron, and Hyperliquid networks. The group is also suspected to be linked to a phishing attack involving $2.45 million worth of wstETH in 2024.
The hackers reportedly used stolen accounts to issue Pepe imitation tokens, incorporating a 2% automatic fee mechanism for profit. The financial flows are connected to the bnbshare.fun platform and multiple addresses on Solana, Tron, and Ethereum. Several tokens, including USOR, VDOR, DROID, WCOR, and UGOR, were manipulated to inflate market value before being sold off to zero.
