Dollar Index Sees Slight Increase Against Major Currencies

The dollar index, which measures the U.S. dollar against six major currencies, rose by 0.05% on May 8, closing at 98.063. According to ChainCatcher, the exchange rates at the end of the New York currency market showed 1 euro trading at 1.1751 dollars, up from 1.1748 dollars the previous day. The British pound was at 1.3583 dollars, slightly down from 1.3593 dollars. The dollar strengthened against the Japanese yen, reaching 156.67 yen compared to 156.45 yen the day before. It weakened against the Swiss franc, trading at 0.7788 francs, down from 0.779 francs. The Canadian dollar saw a minor change, with 1 dollar equating to 1.3635 Canadian dollars, slightly lower than 1.3636 Canadian dollars. The dollar also gained against the Swedish krona, trading at 9.2432 krona, up from 9.2339 krona.
