Hackers hijacked 12 DeFi websites registered with Name.com late Friday, using Step Drainer malware to trick visitors into approving wallet transfers; 10 domains were suspended at the registrar level on Saturday, while Flap and Kintsu remained operational. The Block traced about $138,000 in stolen funds onchain, according to The Block, though losses on Solana and Aptos may not be included and the number of victims remains unclear. Kintsu and Origami Finance blamed Vercel, while Name.com and Vercel had not publicly explained the incident.

On Polymarket’s “Dota 2: Team Yandex vs. GamerLegion - PARI Universe Playoffs” market, the “Yes” option for “End During the Day” rose to 90.5% from 50% one hour earlier, a 40.5-percentage-point increase. According to ChainCatcher, the option’s probability saw a sharp fluctuation.

Russia’s Federal Security Service said it received information from the United States about preparations for a terrorist attack in Moscow and was taking measures. According to ChainCatcher, the U.S. Embassy in Moscow said the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve faced a threat of a mass-casualty incident and that the U.S. government was coordinating with Russian authorities.

Binance co-CEO Richard Teng said on Saturday, October 31, that the exchange has replenished 90% of the assets stolen in its security incident and is committed to covering the remaining 10%. “Our users will not bear the financial impact of this incident,” Teng wrote on X. He said Binance has shared an updated Proof of Reserves snapshot and is working toward resuming withdrawals on November 1. “We know how important trust is, especially in moments like this,” he said, adding that Binance will keep users updated every step of the way.

Binance co-CEO Yi He said on Saturday, October 31, that the exchange has set aside $6.34 billion of its own corporate funds to cover users affected by its security incident, and that ten major tokens are now fully backed: BTC, ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL, USDC, XRP, USD1, RLUSD and ZEC. Binance will keep buying the remaining altcoins through market and over-the-counter channels until every token reaches 100% backing.Binance completed a new Proof of Reserves snapshot at 00:00 UTC on October 31, now available on its Proof of Reserves website. Because the full zero-knowledge proof needs substantial computing power, it will take about 40 to 50 hours to generate and is expected on Tuesday, November 3 (UTC). Once it is published, holders of any of the ten tokens will be able to verify independently that their assets are backed at least 1:1.

Binance has replenished 90% of the assets stolen in its recent security incident, up from about 80% a day earlier, the exchange said in its third recovery update on Saturday, October 31. Ten major tokens are now fully backed: BTC, ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL, USDC, XRP, USD1, RLUSD and ZEC. Binance said it will keep buying the remaining tokens until every affected asset is 100% covered.“Binance will absorb the financial impact of these stolen funds, not our users,” the exchange said. How the Losses Were CoveredBinance said the replenishment drew on three sources:SAFU fund: a partial deployment of its Secure Asset Fund for Users, expected over the next 24 hours. Users can track the fund’s balance on-chain.Futures insurance fund: a portion of the fund, with the remaining balance kept as a regulatory requirement.Corporate treasury: Binance’s own company funds. The remaining 10% is made up of tokens outside the ten fully backed assets. Because these are less liquid, Binance said they may take longer to buy in the required amounts, and it is working with industry partners to complete the purchases through market and OTC channels.New Proof of Reserves SnapshotBinance took a new Proof of Reserves snapshot at 00:00 UTC on October 31, and it is already available on the exchange’s Proof of Reserves website. The full zero-knowledge proof takes about 40 to 50 hours to generate and is expected by Tuesday, November 3 (UTC). Once it is ready, users holding any of the ten fully backed tokens will be able to independently verify that their assets are backed at least 1:1.Withdrawals on Track for SundayBinance said its next milestone is reopening withdrawals, which remain on track for Sunday, November 1, within its previously stated timeframe. The exchange will confirm details in a further update. It said it will continue to show its commitment through “measurable progress, transparent reporting, and concrete actions.”

The DeepSeek Harness team published a technical article on the evening of October 31 titled “Exploring Super-Agent Design: Toward More Autonomous Agent Systems.” According to Odaily, DeepSeek said the rise of personal agents has exposed limits in existing agent designs, which typically treat each session as an independent unit and struggle to support large-scale multitasking and team collaboration. The proposed architecture combines a two-layer structure, event-driven processes, asynchronous multi-channel interaction, separation of storage and computing, and an external watchdog. DeepSeek said the system handles session management and context synchronization, allowing people to focus on decisions and review. The team said an internal Super-agent built on the approach is running and is used for reproducing and fixing issues, responding to code reviews, and iterating on DeepSeek Harness.
