The blockchain has never seemed so quiet, except for hackers.
If you look at the statistics in SlowMist's "Hacked Archives," you'll find that although market enthusiasm has decreased and on-chain activity has declined, hackers are still "diligently" launching attacks in the Web3 world. Among them, cross-chain bridges, DeFi protocols, wallet authorization, private key management, and phishing attacks remain among the most frequently targeted areas by hackers.
These types of incidents are not entirely the same as the "wallet theft" that ordinary users most often hear about. In many cases, the user's mnemonic phrase is not leaked, and the wallet has not actively signed malicious transactions. However, if the verification mechanism, signing permissions, or operational infrastructure of the cross-chain bridge itself malfunctions, the assets on the bridge may still be affected.
This is also the most easily overlooked aspect of cross-chain bridge risks.
