Crypto.com is moving into prediction markets with a new focus on one of the biggest forces affecting businesses and consumers: artificial intelligence.

Crypto.com Targets AI Adoption With New Prediction Contracts

The company plans to launch more than 20 AI-focused prediction contracts from September, allowing users to trade on forecasts about how quickly AI is being adopted across workplaces, consumer services and major industries.

Unlike prediction markets centred on elections or sports, the new contracts will be settled using data on real-world AI use.

The outcomes will be based on surveys, company disclosures and other research tracking how people and businesses are using AI.

New Contracts Will Cover How AI Is Used

The first group of contracts will cover areas including consumer behaviour, workplace adoption, healthcare, retail and financial services.

Around 25 additional contracts are expected to be introduced each quarter.

The exact questions have not yet been released, but a contract could, for example, ask whether AI use among American workers will pass a specific level in an upcoming survey.

Users would trade based on their expectations of the result, with payouts determined by the eventual findings.

This makes the products less about predicting whether AI itself will succeed and more about forecasting measurable changes in how people and companies use the technology.

PYMNTS Data Will Decide The Results

Crypto.com has entered an exclusive two-year partnership with PYMNTS for the products, with PYMNTS Intelligence providing the data used to settle the contracts.

Its consumer research surveys 4,000 US adults every month on their use of AI across areas such as employment, education, shopping and healthcare.

A separate quarterly survey of 500 US companies examines the use of AI agents and automation, including their effect on productivity, employment and software requirements.

PYMNTS will also review company filings, earnings materials and public statements for evidence of AI investment, revenue effects and workforce changes.

The organisation has nearly 30 months of historical data, giving the new markets a base of past information against which future results can be measured.

The contracts will trade through OG Prediction Markets, an exchange and clearinghouse regulated by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Crypto.com and its partners will provide access to the contracts, bringing the AI-focused products into a regulated prediction market environment rather than relying solely on a crypto-native platform.
