Earlier Wednesday, the Discord server of the popular P2E game Axie Infinity was attacked again, resulting in the destruction of its MEE6 bot.
MEE6 is a popular Discord bot mainly used to automate roles and messages, used by many crypto projects. The attackers used the compromised bot to add permissions to a fake Jiho account, followed by a fake announcement about minting.
The developers successfully removed the attacked MEE6 bot from the main server and removed the fake message. However, the project's official Twitter account warned that many users may still see false information until they restart their Discord.
The developers also claim that this is not the first time MEE6 has been attacked and that many projects have faced similar issues. However, the official MEE6 Discord support channel has denied the allegations of a hack, claiming that they have checked with engineers and have not seen any unusual activity.

Many believe the hackers first compromised the administrative account and then used MEE6 to gain access to the alternate administrative account. This helps them hide compromised administrator accounts while sending network information.
This comes nearly a month after a colossal theft at Axie Infinity’s Ronin Bridge that resulted in the loss of over $600 million worth of crypto assets. A series of recent security breaches has sapped the community's confidence in the game, once considered a revolutionary project in the gaming space.
