According to Foresight News, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has expressed his support for Tornado Cash co-founder Roman Storm in a letter. Buterin emphasized his belief in the importance of privacy and his active use of privacy tools, including those developed by Storm. He criticized the assumption that personal privacy can be violated by the public while government, police, and intelligence agencies should have access to all citizens' information for security purposes. Buterin strongly opposes this view, highlighting the frequent hacking of government databases and the risk of information falling into the hands of hostile foreign powers. He shared his personal experience of using Storm's software for transactions, noting that his name was not recorded in corporate databases when purchasing software for personal use. Buterin also pointed out that Storm's applications continue to function normally even years after development ceased.
