According to Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter, the claims of FTX Group creditors are attracting the interest of large distressed asset investment institutions, and companies such as Baupost Group and Oaktree Capital have asked for claims from FTX customers whose assets are trapped on the exchange. Companies such as Citigroup Inc., Cowen Inc. and Seaport Global Holdings LLC are trying to act as middlemen in the nascent market. Jay Conklin, managing partner at FTX claims brokerage Park Walk LLC, said more and bigger deals are expected. But for now, the claims on the deal are relatively small, and talks are on the rise for accounts holding $100 million or more. Valuations are mostly between 5% and 13% of face value, with prices rising as investor interest grows.
