Odaily Planet Daily News Aptos Labs and Jump Crypto officially released Shelby, a high-performance, decentralized hot storage network designed for Web3 real-time applications, covering scenarios such as streaming media, AI data, social platforms and DePIN.
Shelby achieves read and write speeds and reliability comparable to cloud services through global high-performance nodes, fiber backbones and on-chain programmable architecture, breaking the centralization and performance bottlenecks of traditional Web2 services, and has sub-second response, pay-as-you-go billing, token gating, DRM, smart contract permission control and dynamic pricing capabilities.
Story Protocol, Metaplex, Pipe Network and other projects will be the first to access, and NBCUniversal also plans to use Shelby in streaming scenarios to further verify the potential of its cross-chain real-time infrastructure.
The Shelby developer test network (Devnet) is expected to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2025, and will support multi-chain ecosystems such as Aptos, Ethereum, and Solana.
