Odaily Planet Daily News: The "Regional Anti-Money Laundering Capacity Building Workshop: New Challenges in the Traditional and Digital Ages" co-organized by the Hong Kong Customs and the University of Hong Kong was held for four consecutive days from June 9th and ended successfully today (June 12th). Following the signing of a memorandum of cooperation at the International Forum on Combating Money Laundering and Transnational Organized Crime in December last year, the Hong Kong Customs and the University of Hong Kong held this workshop to further strengthen the Customs' capacity building work in combating money laundering, especially the trend of virtual assets and the risks they bring. It is reported that the Hong Kong Customs is working with the University of Hong Kong to develop a digital tool to track cryptocurrency transactions used in suspected money laundering schemes.
