OKX Global General Counsel Melissa Muehlfeld has officially resigned. She joined OKX's US subsidiary OKcoin as deputy general counsel in May 2022 and was promoted to OKX Global General Counsel in August 2024.
This marks another progress in OKX's recent restructuring of its legal and compliance team. In February this year, OKX has successively replaced several senior executives, including former Chief Legal Officer Mauricio Beugelmans and Compliance Director Vanessa Zhang, after reaching a settlement with the US Department of Justice (DoJ) for $500 million. Currently, the position has been taken over by Linda Lacewell, former head of the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS).
Sources revealed that Lacewell is restructuring OKX's legal and compliance structure after taking office. OKX officials did not comment on individual personnel changes, and Muehlfeld did not respond to requests for comment. (CoinDesk)
