Fed official Hammack: Fed may take action in June after clear data

Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank President Beth Hammack ruled out a rate cut in May but said the central bank could act as early as June if there was clear evidence of the direction of the economy.“If we have clear and compelling data by June and it’s clear what direction to take at that time, then I think the committee will act,” Hammack said in an interview Thursday.
