Coinlive reporting at the “Discussing the Future of Digital Assets in a Turbulent Industry” event in Singapore. Coinlive, Beosin, and FOMO Pay play host to this event with the next keynote speech by Professor David Lee Kuo Chuen. He expounds on the topic “Singapore’s Stand on Web3”. Going on about how the global economy is at a crossroad at the moment, he points out that the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has not changed their position about cryptocurrency, warning people that cryptocurrency is a high-risk investment but alas, people do not listen. He also mentions that all governments are concern that crypto will behave like, for instance, fixed income investment crashing. Why people buy crypto through exchanges? He lists down briefly, three reasons: 1) laziness and ease of use; 2) a third party to help you stake so it eliminates the hassle and trouble of having to do it yourself; 3) borrowing and leveraging. He explains that companies that build on a strong foundation are the companies that will grow and flourish. As for the metaverse, it is what the government wants to have; Korea and Japan both already do. The whole idea of cryptocurrency is peer-to-peer transaction thus you should be invested in Web3.
