Sei Foundation to Acquire 23andMe

Sei said that genetic data security has become a national security issue, and 23andMe is currently facing serious financial difficulties and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection (Chapter 11) this week. Several state attorneys general have reminded users to consider deleting their personal data on the platform. If this acquisition goes forward, Sei will protect privacy through blockchain encryption mechanisms, allowing users to decide whether and how to authorize the use and monetization of their own data.
